TORONTO – March 30, 2021 —Beutel Goodman is pleased to announce the upcoming retirement of Michael Gibson, Managing Director, Operations. After 31 years at Beutel Goodman, Michael will officially retire from the company on December 31, 2021.

Michael will remain a member of the Management Committee until his retirement; however, planning has already begun to ensure a smooth transition. As such, we are pleased to announce the promotion of Shadi Shakra to Chief Technology Officer, effective April 1. Shadi will continue to head up the technology and performance teams at Beutel Goodman but will officially report directly to the Management Committee going forward.

In addition, following Michael’s departure, Jackie Corneil, Vice President, Finance and Administration, will join the Management Committee as a full participating member. Effective January 1, 2022, she will also assume the title of Managing Director. Jackie, a CPA, CA, joined Beutel Goodman in 2012, and over the past nine years, she has assumed progressively senior roles and responsibilities. Jackie’s transition to Managing Director will continue over the next nine months under Michael’s tutelage.

While all of us at Beutel Goodman will be sorry to see Michael go, we congratulate him on his well-earned retirement after three decades at the firm and look forward to the new generation of leadership that he has so carefully cultivated.
