TORONTO – January 12, 2023— Beutel Goodman wishes to announce that Pat Palozzi, Vice President and Portfolio Manager, Canadian Equities, plans to retire on January 31, 2024.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank Pat for his significant contribution and commitment to Beutel Goodman over almost two decades. In addition to his investment responsibilities, Pat has provided valuable guidance and mentorship in support of the team and our disciplined equity investment process.

Succession planning has long been an important consideration for Beutel Goodman, and as such, we are pleased to announce that upon Pat’s retirement, Vim Thasan, Vice President, Canadian Equities, will join James Black, Vice President, Canadian Equities & Director of Equities Research, as co-lead portfolio manager of the Canadian equity strategies. Vim will also assume co-lead portfolio manager responsibilities of the North American equity strategy alongside Glenn Fortin, Vice President, U.S. and International Equities.

An investment professional with more than 20 years of investment industry experience, Vim joined Beutel Goodman as an analyst and portfolio manager in January 2020 and has increased his responsibilities and made significant contributions across the Canadian equity portfolios since his arrival.
